Au Pair Details
After a great number of enquiries, NZC has arranged an Au Pair placement programme. While predominately German, Swiss and Japanese take advantage of living in New Zealand as an Au Pair, a number of other nationalities are now studying English at NZC before their placement. Through our partners we are able to provide candidates a professional and excellent service. Our focus is to find people with excellent childcare skills, who have a genuine love of children and enjoy being with them. We also find families who will treat the Au Pairs with respect and kindness, knowing that they are visitors to our shores and away from their families.
Support Services
- Introducing the Au Pair applicant to a family that has been selected by us (if possible personal family visit, otherwise phone call with family).
- If family is interested in Au Pair, introducing family to Au Pair (including family and job description, photos of family).
- Arranging a personal meeting between Au Pair applicant and family (if in or near Auckland), otherwise arranging a phone call between Au Pair and family.
- If Au Pair and family come to an agreement, setting up the Au Pair contract between Au Pair and family.
- Preparing Au Pair for her time as an Au Pair in her new family (phone call/information leaflet) and answering any questions she might have.
- Phone call on the day of the arrival of Au Pair to make sure she arrived safely in the family
- Another phone call after 2 weeks in the family to make sure she is settling in well and to clear any questions that may have come up.
- Passing on contact details of our other Au Pairs in New Zealand.
- Support during the Au Pair’s stay in the family in case any questions or problems come up.
- In case a placement should not work out, I will support the Au Pair in finding another family, if possible. Otherwise support in finding exchange work or jobs i.e. in tourism or harvest.
