THE INTERNAL - NEWSLETTER 15/04
Hi, hope everybody is fine and did not catch a cold yet! I guess I will see most of you tonight to say good bye to Fanny, who is leaving Thursday evening!
Enjoy your week!
WOX INTERVIEW

… with Roul, since he is one of the next interns leaving…
WoX: What is the first thing that pops into your mind when you think about New Zealand?
Roul: Heineken and Globe Bar (laughing) – and beautiful beaches; nice people; lovely woman; great city; a lot of stress with my thesis; a great flat share, especially now that we are only men here.
WoX: Do you think you changed during the time you spend here? If Yes, in which way?
Roul: Changed? No. I am as organised as before. Maybe I got a bit more cosmopolitan.
WoX: … and the most conspicuous difference to Germany?
Roul: Women are a lot more cooler!
WoX: So just finish the following sentence: Kiwi girls are…
Roul: … “geil!”
WoX: What are some good places in Auckland to go to?
Roul: There are plenty! When the weather was better I pretty much enjoyed Albert Park and the harbour. The shooting range at the harbour is great! I would recommend Globe Bar and Khuja Lounge, the surf shops, Onehunga…
WoX: Any outstanding experiences?
Roul: The duck and pheasant shootings were awesome. Moreover, I will not forget the Easter weekend - laughing(see picture below)! There is nothing that went totally wrong. Except, that I took too much time off instead of working for my thesis and the car crash was a bit stupid. But I did not have a lot of time, was hectic and wanted o pick up Silvana – besides that, everything was cool!
WoX: One thing you would take to Germany to represent New Zealand?
Roul: Yep, I will take the duck foot. (of one of the ducks he shot)

WoX: A last word?
Roul: It is wicked here and I will come back for sure! I do not know in which way yet, but maybe working or studying here, or in Australia …
It has been a great time!
Thanks Roul! Yep, I guess there are some more people who will remember the Easter weekend! It still was good fun!

MESSAGE FROM JONATHON

Hi everyone! I hope that the rain isn’t too depressing. The good news is that there is a holiday coming up – Queen’s Birthday is the 7th of June. Of course it isn’t really the Queen’s Birthday, but rather the day it is celebrated in NZ. Not that anyone actually thinks of the Queen on this day – rather everyone leaves town and freezes and gets rained on. Or that’s what happens to me anyway J
I just wanted to tell you a little this week about some of the nice opportunities there are in NZ for some water sports and extreme adventures.
Most of you probably know more about extreme sports than I do – I tend to be one of the ones that watches or takes photos rather than being one who jumps off buildings or goes paragliding.
There are some places close to Auckland which run parachute jumps – you can go tandem skydiving if you like that sort of thing. It’s particularly beautiful because you can see the lush green NZ countryside, the deep Green Tasman Sea and beautiful blue Pacific Ocean while you plummet towards the ground at some ungodly speed with a stranger strapped to your back. Cool!
Also, there are Paraglides which you can do off of the hills around St Heliers. Even on the beach at Mission Bay you can hire Windsurfers. If you are interested, you can also find those parachute things where the boat pulls you along and you fly behind it, or hire a boat for the day, or a sea-doo.
That’s all from me. If you feel you would like to contribute anything to our newsletter, please let us know! We would love to hear your interesting stories about your time in NZ.
Jonathon
