THE INTERNAL - NEWSLETTER 17/04
Hi, hope all of you enjoyed the long weekend! The weather was not too bad - let’s hope that will last for some time! Roul and Henrik took off for the South Island – have a splendid one and see you before heading back to Germany!
All of us were a bit surprised getting e-mails from Steve, actually staying in Germany (he was assumed to be in Australia – hmmm), always good for surprise!
WOX - GET TOGETHER

Come along to Grand Central on Thursday (10.06.04) and listen to some good jazz tunes – Jerome Hendrix & band is playing powerful soul and jazz. It starts at 9.30pm – so let’s meet around 8pm? For the ones who have not met Antje yet it will be a good opportunity to do so, and it’s always good to have a chitchat….
For the party monsters: Brisa Louca is playing some live Brasilian bossa nova at Khuja Lounge from 10.30pm ($5) – let’s see how it is going.
WELCOME IN MIDDLE EARTH

Antje Lambacher arrived in Auckland last Saturday and had a pretty good start with a long weekend (due to the Queen’s birthday – thanks!). Since her flight was convenient and she was not having any major jetlag, she is feeling very comfortable around here. I met Antje this morning and she was a bit nervous starting her internship today – no worries, everything will be fine!!! Being asked about her about her first impression of Auckland/NZ she said, that it is a bit smaller than expected but fine and especially the surrounding is awesome!
Antje already had a busy weekend. On Saturday evening she went in town with Henrik and Frank, the two other guys also staying at Ryecroft Lodge. And yesterday she was joining Kevin and Kristian for a trip to Waitakere Ranges with all the great beaches (a bit north-west of Auckland). Was a good start, wasn’t it? Enjoy yourself!
TIME TO SAY GOODBYE

Kevin, do you really wanna leave? For anybody who wants to get some more insight in his NZ-time, check out: www.go-nz.de! Thanks for being so entertaining: great dancing style; spontaneous sounds (Fanny, it does not sound like kitten!); even he was surprised how much beer he could drink (that’s what most foreigners discover over here); acquaintances from all over the world (northern Europe in particular) …
Only four days to go and then Kevin if off for the South Island and (I don’t really wanna mention it) afterwards going to laze around for one week at Cook Islands – grrrrrrrr, you little bastard!
It has been a fun time with you (Pahia, Coromandel, Eastcoast/ Eastern …) & not only (but especially) the two guys left in the Woxa house will miss you. Stay away from electric fences!
MATARIKI – Your 2nd chance to make New Year resolutions!

Matariki signals the start of the New Year for Maori, which was traditionally a time to farewell the dead, acknowledge the past year’s activities and focus on what the year ahead will bring. Although different iwi hold celebrations around different times of the month, a;; of them mark Matariki with ceremonies and the harvesting of kai (food).
Matariki is the name for the Pleiades, a star constellation Maori looked to as an indicator of the upcoming seasons. This years period of celebration runs from June18 – July 17. Look out for the pyrotechnics display and food and wine festival in July!
